CLASS TOPICS INCLUDE:
 
Vocal Technique: •  Find and Develop your own personal sound • Increase Range and Power •  Eliminate hoarseness •  Learn relaxation techniques and breath control
 
Repertoire/Improvisation• Learn jazz standards and find appropriate key •  Learn bebop heads and tools for improvisation • Style: including blues, bossa nova, ballad, swing, waltz, samba
 
Percussion:• Develop rhythm learn to play percussion instruments •Learn syncopated rhythms • Call and response
 
World Choir: • Accapella choir •Learn to blend your voice and sing in a group • Learn to sing harmony • Learn independence with voice and rhythm
 
Sight Singing/Harmony:• Develop musicianship, understanding form and chord changes – “Hearing the changes” • Sing bass lines and chord changes • Improve sight singing. • II V I Patterns and others
 
Sing with Rhythm Section:• Give guidelines for arranging songs and communicating with the band • Choose a repertoire individual to the singer, including correct keys •Work on phrasing and lyrics - “telling the story” •  Preparation for performance - putting together an effective program • Preparation for performance - putting together an effective program
